CAPSICUM ANNUUM, PIMENTO or red pimentos are nightshade plants and to be avoided. Some individuals with PKD can get kidney shut down from too many oxalates resulting in irreversible kidney failure. Pimentos are also high in vitamin C. Pimentos can be found often stuffed into olives. It was used by the discoverer of vitamin C to help his patients with scurvy often found in restaurants in Hungary.
